I think I am back !!!
Now that the markets have dropped and the Sensex P/E is less than its average over last 10 years, some more money can be allocated to equities. I have uploaded the latest magic formula sheet to the google groups (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AlEgov9DQWsNdFNsdnpXbTdLMzY2d01GSzI4WkhlUmc&hl=en_US)Let me know your thoughts on the same. This magic formula extract is out of screener.in a website run by the same professionals that run dalal-street.in. Well, if you filter for only co’s with Mkt Cap > 250 Cr and then sort by P/BV, guess which one comes on top

I am not sure what you mean. If you follow magic formula you need to pick the first 30 listed as per the rankings. Magic Formula filters scrips based on their ROCE and PE. What can be done is once this list of 30 is created, you can filter for stocks that are trading 50% less than their book value, like what Benjamin Graham recommends, in which case holding period of these stocks need to be for a longer duration. If there are stocks trading at less than book value for a streched period of time, there has to be some reason. Remember, there are professionals out there, who are tracking these stocks day in and day out.

I am still not able to get the file. When I click on the link given in the post, it opens my google docs page but the magic_formula file is not found. I think the file is not shared. Pls share the file again.

Hi, Could not find any 2011 file in the google groups. Downloaded all the files.
Most are 2009, 2010 files. None are 2011.
the documents are at a new location in google docs. Updated the post to reflect the same.
